Leader in the national production of barley, beans, cassava, yerba mate, triticale, and rye.

Paraná’s barley production represents 69% of the national total, amounting to nearly 522 thousand tons in 2022.

Beans: Representing 71% of Brazil’s bean production, with a production value of US$ 511.4 million and a total of 733.3 thousand tons harvested in 2022.

Triticale: Paraná contributes 76% of Brazil’s triticale production, with 97.7 thousand tons harvested in 2022.

Top three crops in Paraná: Soybeans, corn, and wheat.

O Paraná é o segundo maior produtor nacional de trigo, e colheu 3,6 milhões de toneladas em 2022, sendo que o valor da produção foi de R$5,6 bilhões.

O estado é o segundo maior produtor nacional de milho, com quase 15,6 milhões de toneladas colhidas em 2022.

Também ocupa a segunda posição nacional no cultivo de batata, colhendo 778,3 mil toneladas.

Agribusiness Responsible for 80% of Paraná’s exports.

Over the last decade, the state’s share in Brazil’s agricultural exports averaged 13.4%, while its share in imports was 11.6%. In 2022, this resulted in a surplus of US$12.9 billion.

From January to August 2023, food exports represented 61.6% of Paraná’s total exports, totaling US$10.3 billion.

Paraná is the 5th largest exporter in Brazil and the top exporter in the Southern region.

A major portion of Paraná’s production comes from highly professional cooperatives.

Out of 223 cooperatives in the state, 63 are in the agricultural and livestock sectors.

Cooperatives account for 76.9% of the state’s agricultural production and 79.4% of jobs in the sector.

42% of the sector’s exports in 2022 came from cooperatives, generating US$7.4 billion.
