Ponto Paraná

Ponto Paraná is a project aimed at creating meeting points that connect people to a showcase of the endless riches of Paraná’s regions. These will be roadside rest stops where local products are sold, and tourist information is provided, promoting regional development with sustainability.

The construction of this project was inspired by Japan’s Michi No Eki (roadside stations), brought to Paraná through the state’s cooperation with the Hyogo State. This system is based on multipurpose stations designed to drive regional actions for sustainable development.

Following the Japanese model, Paraná’s stations will operate 24/7, offering free parking, rest areas, restrooms, food services, and tourist information about the region. The main focus, however, will be on selling local products registered under the Sustainable Regional Vocations (VRS) program.

The operation will be autonomous, guided by pre-established directives, fostering management that aligns with the unique characteristics of each location. This initiative by Invest Paraná aims to promote regional knowledge, support tourists, and boost local commerce.

Paraná stands out as an important tourist destination, ranking third as the entry point for foreign tourists to Brazil. In 2022, it welcomed approximately 522,000 visitors, according to official data from the State Tourism Department. Juranda, Morretes, Guarapuava, and São José dos Pinhais, municipalities recognized as pioneers of this project, demonstrate significant potential to offer a wide range of tourism activities across various segments, including religious, rural, business and events, gastronomic tourism, among many other attractions.
